return to "the dtn"

i'll be returning to downtown los angeles this saturday night for my final show of the year in southern california.........
my friend nathan at the hive has invited me to exhibit a new collection of work for the november opening at the multi gallery space........
i've exhibited my work at the hive in the past.......... painted a mural in one of their bathrooms....... and live painted at their venue as well......
it will be nice to return to my old downtown l.a. neighborhood as a featured artist this saturday night..........

lyrik art session

we asked a few our artist friends to help us customize the counters and tables in our cafe......"lyrik"..... and the results of a one night art session were pretty amazing............... here’s how the experiment turned out........... special thanks to blaine fontana, lesley reppeteaux, zach johnson, natalie phillips, jess patterson, gabe decker, eatcho, ironclaw, keenan havens & ruby jets............

we finally agreed on what to re-name our cafe......... and we settled on "lyrik"......... after our strange little cat......... we asked our friend yoskay yamamoto to create our new character............ and i added my lettering style to the design............. here's how the new sign came out........... for more info...... check out lyrikpdx.blogspot.com

congrates cooper!

the installation 5 tour came to a close in los angeles @ the space in culver city........... it was nice to visit my former residence for the show and see many friends at the event............ the artists were asked to donated some books or prints for the charity as well....... so keiko and i made a little creature to donate....... my new friend "cooper" had the lucky raffle ticket and won our 9-kei creature............ congrates cooper!

installation 5 tour closes........

the scion installation 5 tour came to a close on saturday night in los angeles............. its been a very fun tour all year long.............. i was able to attend the exhibits in miami........ minneapolis........ portland......... and lastly in los angeles............ on sept. 30th all the art will be auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds going to creative capitol...............
thanks scion for inviting me on the tour the last 2 years............ and supporting my creative expression.....

i think.....therefore i am.......

jason brown is one of the hardest working curators in the city of portland............ he's been curating shows at the goodfoot since it opened its doors...... this month is possibly one of his largest shows to date.......... the massive group show titled...."i think..... therefore i am"
